Heating assistance available in Eau Claire Co. starting Oct. 1

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – Low-income families will once again be offered heating assistance this winter in Eau Claire and Trempealeau Counties.

According to Western Dairyland, approximately 225,000 Wisconsin households receive heating assistance every year.

Whether your home uses wood, propane, natural gas, electricity or oil fuel, heating assistance may be available. The assistance is a one-time payment during the heating season which runs from October 1 – May 15. How much money you are eligible for depends on a number of factors – home size, income and energy costs.
