Eau Claire mom charged with slapping daughter, hitting her with hairbrush

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A charge of child abuse was filed Thursday against an Eau Claire mom.

Police said Camille Linville’s daughter came to school earlier this month with a bruised eye.

She told school staff that her cousin scratched her, but later told an adult that Linville told her to lie because “school wouldn’t understand what goes on at home.” The girl said Linville slapped her in the face with an open hand, then hit her on the head with a hairbrush nine times, causing it to break.

Linville is free on a signature bond, with orders not to have contact with the child.
