Gas leak prompts school, daycare evacuations in Chetek

Chetek (WQOW) – A gas line was cut in Chetek forcing two daycares and a school to be evacuated.

According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, a 2″ gas line was cut at the intersection of 8th Street and Morrison Street.

The wind blowing the gas is causing an odor in the area, and because of that, ABC Trusses, Roselawn Elementary and Little Creation Day Care evacuated as a precaution. The kids have been relocated to a safe shelter.
