Chippewa Valley Free Clinic finds new home

Eau Claire (WQOW)- The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic is moving once again. This time, hopefully into its forever home in Eau Claire.

The clinic bought a building in the professional medical area off of Clairemont Avenue on Oak Ridge Drive, that’s near HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital.

The clinic has had to move unexpectedly three times in the past six years, and Maribeth Woodford, the Executive Director of the clinic, said they’re happy to finally have control over their future.

The new facility allows them to now have six exam rooms, three dental chairs and improve the workflow for the staff and volunteers, but will people have a hard time finding the new facility?

“Patient population does need to find us and we are tucked away a little bit, but again knowing the other heath facilities, I think that’s going to be a benefit,” Woodford said. “We have talked to transit and they’re going to establish a bus route for us in the evenings.”

As for now, patients are still being seen at their downtown location until construction is finished.

Woodford said construction has already started, and they expect it to be finished by the middle-to-end of November.
