Shooting threat found at Augusta High School, 3 minors referred for making terroristic threats

Augusta (WQOW) – Three minors are being referred for making terroristic threats at Augusta High School.

According to the Augusta School District and Augusta police, school administration was was made aware of a threat found on an electronic device on Thursday. The threat said a shooting at school would happen next Tuesday.

When the threat was discovered, the police department was notified and safety measures were put into place.

During the investigation, three juveniles were identified and they were removed from the school. No guns or bombs were found on school grounds.

There will be increased police on school grounds. Students will be told about the threat when they arrive at school Friday.

The school district wants you to know if your child has a concern about safety at school or somewhere else, they should speak to an adult they trust so the concerns can be addressed.
