Jamf buys software product company

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Jamf, the Apple device management company in Eau Claire, announced Wednesday it has purchased NoMAD.

NoMAD is an open source and commercial set of software products that streamline Mac authentication and account management in order to simplify the user experience from the moment of log-in, while eliminating support challenge for IT admins.

With NoMAD, Jamf has an expanded set of leading management capabilities to serve IT as they move to cloud-based identity solutions while ensuring end users have the best possible Apple experience.

“Account management and security often come with a trade off by impacting an end user experience,” said Cameron Evjen, VP of product development with Jamf. “NoMAD’s solutions provide a great balance between giving IT the granular control they need while not impacting the end user’s experience.”

Following the acquisition, the NoMAD team will join Jamf, the open-source solution will remain as NoMAD and will include free chat support, and the commercial solutions will be combined and rebranded as Jamf Connect. Both NoMAD and Jamf Connect will benefit from Jamf’s global, world-class support and services team.
