Former WQOW anchor Aaron Rhody braces for hurricane in South Carolina

(WQOW) – As Hurricane Florence makes landfall, one concern we, and some of our viewers, have had is for the safety for former WQOW Daybreak anchor Aaron Rhody who moved to Myrtle Beach SC a couple of months ago. He sent News 18 an update saying everything is good so far.

Rhody said he plans to stay at the station, which is doing wall-to-wall coverage. The worst part of the storm is expected there Thursday night, or Friday morning.

He said right now rain is the main concern, not so much the wind.

Rhody said the city is a ghost town as most people have moved out of the area in preparation for the storm.
