Fatal motorcycle crash in New Haven Township

Update: The deceased man was identified as David A. Nelson age 50 from Brooklyn Center, MN.

The woman was identified as Carol Anne Kukacka, age 53 also from Brooklyn Center, MN.

According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, alcohol did not appear to be a factor in this crash.

 

Dunn County (WQOW) – According to a press release from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, On Saturday at 1:29 PM, in New Haven Township, one man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-person motorcycle crash.

The man was driving a motorcycle that struck the rear of another motorcycle in front of him, which was operated by a woman.  Both drivers were thrown off from their motorcycles.

Based on the investigation from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, a group of motorcycles was eastbound on State Rd 64, and the group was intending to drive south on Cty Rd Q.  When the man was approaching Cty Rd Q, this is when he struck the female driver.

The woman was taken by Boyceville ambulance to Mayo-Menomonie with serious injuries.

Life-saving measures were attempted with the man involved, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dunn County Medical Examiner’s office assisted on scene, Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Boyceville Fire and Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.

No further information will be released at this time pending notification of family members.
