Eau Claire YMCA finalizes purchase of Indoor Sports Center

Eau Claire (WQOW) – As of August 31, the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center is under the new ownership of the Eau Claire YMCA.

Theresa Hillis, executive director of the YMCA, said the building is now hosting ‘Y’ programs. The Indoor Sports Center was known for hosting large exhibitions. Exhibitions with signed contracts will still have scheduled events, but no new contracts will be signed for big events, unless the event fits under their three pillars: Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

The ‘Y’ is also in the process of a long-time lease with the City of Eau Claire regarding the city-owned parking lot. YMCA officials are awaiting approval on that.
