First-time teacher works at familiar school in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW)- For some of the older kids, it was the first day of school here in Eau Claire, but first day of school jitters aren’t just for students, they’re also for first-time teachers.

Tuesday was a special day for Zoo Moua at Delong Middle School, not only because it’s his first teaching gig right after college, but also because he’s roaming the same hallways he did while in middle school, but as a teacher now.

“I think Delong really resonates with who I am,” Moua said. “I think the population here really reflects the population in the whole city. I also think a lot of the teachers here have done well to me, and I think that culture is something I can contribute to.”

Moua said he’s looking forward to using what he learned in college in the classroom, and being able to create a classroom where students come to learn.
