Rocking out to raise funds for veterans

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – Post 52 of the American Legion in La Crosse supports area veterans and their families in a variety of ways, and on Sunday they debut their very first Rock The Vets fundraiser.

The event features six different bands performing on stage to a crowd of veterans and their friends.

With over 300 tickets sold, and equipment borrowed from Red Audio Productions to save money, the day of music aims to ensure the legion’s ability to continue their involvement in the various causes they support.

“Such as veteran’s families in need, of course, Legion Baseball, Badger Boys and Girls State and there are probably another half dozen organizations they contribute to,” Rock The Vets Creator Dustin Lamm elaborates.

“So with this money, we’ll be able to kick some money back into those programs,” Lamm adds.

They plan to make Rock The Vets an annual event on the Sunday before labor day for years to come.

If you missed the event and would like to contribute to their cause, contact the La Crosse American Legion Post 52 at (608) 782-3232.
