Spring Valley voters pass $22.8 million referendum

Spring Valley (WQOW) – Voters in Spring Valley want a new elementary school and now they are going to get it.

They voted in favor (723-528) of a $22.8 million referendum to build a new elementary school, tear down the current one and move the district’s softball field.

The district says the new school will increase security.

The property tax increase on a $150,000 home will be $255 a year.

The current elementary school was built in 1929.

Construction on the new school is slated to begin in 2020.
