(WQOW) – Another race on the ballot for all Wisconsinites – state treasurer.
In April, a Republican-backed constitutional amendment to abolish this office was voted down in a state-wide election.
The position has been around since the state was founded and is responsible for safeguarding the efficient and proper use of taxpayer money.
The votes are in and Godlewski will take the seat currently held by Matt Adamczyk, a Republican, who decided not to run for reelection.
Democrat Sarah Godlewski is an Eau Claire native. She is currently a small business owner in Madison. She previously worked for the U.S. Department of Defense.
