Here is the latest ACC sports news from The Associated Press

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Florida State continues to struggle under first-year coach Willie Taggart. The Seminoles lost 30-7 to Syracuse on Saturday to fall into the basement of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Atlantic Division at 0-2. The players lay the blame on themselves and say first-year coach Willie Taggart is doing a good job.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — No. 2 Clemson closed a week of concern and questions about playing with once-powerhouse storm Florence nearby with a 38-7 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday. Clemson was the only major conference school in the Carolinas and Virginia to play Saturday, although it moved up its start time to noon to avoid the heaviest impacts of Florence on the area forecast for tonight and Sunday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Dae Williams rushed for a pair of 1-yard touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead score with 5:01 remaining, as Louisville rallied from a 14-0 deficit to beat in-state rival Western Kentucky 20-17. Quarterback Malik Cunningham once again provided a huge lift for the Cardinals (2-1), rushing 21 times for 129 yards and completing 10 of 18 passes for 88 yards. WKU lost a double-digit lead for the second consecutive game.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville senior safety London Iakopo was carted off the field with what appeared to be a serious injury late in the fourth quarter against Western Kentucky. Iakopo was injured while tackling WKU’s Joshua Samuel after an 11-yard run to the right sideline with 3:42 remaining. Players and coaches surrounded Iakopo as medical personnel tended to him before he was strapped to a flat board and placed on a cart. Iakopo was cheered as he left the field.

UNDATED (AP) — Tennessee distributed 1,067 free tickets to its game with UTEP to Hurricane Florence evacuees from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Volunteers athletic director Phillip Fulmer had announced earlier in the week that evacuees would get free tickets as long as they provided IDs showing they’re from counties under evacuation orders.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Malik Rosier threw for two touchdowns and ran for three more, and No. 21 Miami outlasted upset-minded Toledo 49-24. The Hurricanes never trailed and led 21-0 late in the first half. Toledo twice pulled back to within a touchdown, but the early hole was too much for the Rockets to overcome.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Quentin Harris threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start for Duke, and the Blue Devils won 40-27 at Baylor. They played in Texas while their home state of North Carolina was being inundated with rain from Tropical Storm Florence. The Blue Devils are 3-0 for the second year in a row. It’s the first time they’ve had consecutive 3-0 starts since 1987-88. Baylor is 2-1.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Qadree Ollison ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns and Pittsburgh’s defense kept Georgia Tech’s triple-option in check during a 24-19 victory in the ACC opener for both teams. Ollison scored on runs of 31 and 8 yards for the Panthers (2-1, 1-0), who bounced back from an ugly blowout loss to rival Penn State by jumping on the Yellow Jackets (1-2, 0-1) early and then holding on late. TaQuon Marshall ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns for Georgia Tech, which has dropped two straight.
