Police search for 3-month-old reportedly taken from home

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Virginia police are searching for a 3-month-old girl reported to have been taken from her home.

The Roanoke Times quotes Roanoke police Chief Tim Jones as saying the abduction was reported Tuesday night by the infant’s mother. Jones says the mother told authorities her daughter, Arieanna Day, was put to bed at about 10 p.m. that night.

The mother says she discovered Arieanna missing about an hour later, and Jones says Arieanna’s father told authorities he didn’t have the infant. Jones says there is no indication that someone forced their way inside the home or that the child was taken by force.
