MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A new ad from Republican U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen accuses Democratic challenger Dean Phillips of doing nothing about a sexual harassment case involving an Allina Health clinic when Phillips served on the Allina board.
The commercial cites a 2007 lawsuit by seven nurses who alleged they were sexually harassed by a doctor at an Allina clinic in Richfield.
The Phillips campaign denounced the ad as dishonest, saying he was not responsible as a board member for day-to-day operations.
Allina says the doctor left shortly before the lawsuit was filed. The company declines to say whether he resigned or was fired, but that it took appropriate action.
Paulsen spokesman John-Paul Yates disputes Phillips’ claim that he wasn’t responsible for Allina’s actions. He says Phillips’ service on the board is fair game.
