Mary Pautsch

Mary came to News 18 in July 2019 from Sioux City, Iowa where she graduated from Morningside College with a BA in Spanish after attending Iowa State University for 3 years.

Mary started her career in journalism as an editor and reporter for her college newspaper, the Iowa State Daily, where she covered topics in diversity and education.

In the summer of 2017, Mary tried her hand in broadcast news as a Quintern at KTIV News 4, WQOW’s sister station in Sioux City, Iowa. There, she got a chance to work alongside her dad, a long-time sports anchor for the area.

After the summer internship, Mary went on to become a producer and reporter for KCAU, the ABC affiliate in her hometown.

Now, Mary spends her days in the Chippewa Valley with her cat Eugene. She enjoys trying to find the best local restaurants and shops when she’s not on a Netflix binge. She also enjoys live music, comedy and theater, and is admittedly proud of the fact she knows every word to Hamilton and In the Heights (and most of John Mulaney’s stand-up).
