Shannon Hoyt

Shannon Hoyt started out as an intern in August 2017, moving to part-time and is now a full-time Multi-Media Journalist and weekend anchor here at News 18.

She was born in Connecticut, but grew up all over Wisconsin – graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School in 2014 and UW-Stout in May 2018.

While at UW-Stout, Shannon studied professional communication and emerging media with a concentration in applied journalism and an applied field in multimedia content production. She traveled to Hong Kong and Taiwan for over a month journaling and creating a class podcast, and has dabbled in the performing and creative arts. Poetry is cool, right?

Shannon enjoys taking on everything but the kitchen sink. She was the editor-in-chief of UW-Stout’s newspaper, Stoutonia; web content writer for University Marketing; communications specialist for University Communications; blogger and broadcaster for Take2 News; president of Running and Jogging Club; and currently works with marketing for Another Mother Runner.

Shannon loves to run half marathons – maybe a marathon one day. She is currently consuming her evening time with Netflix and The Office. She has a twin sister named Randi (not identical, but everyone thinks they are) and loves chocolate everything.

Weather Outlook: DANGEROUS COLD- Deep freeze on our doorstep
