Keith Edwards is the Live at Five anchor at WQOW News 18.
Keith grew up in the Village of Lake Hallie, attending Chippewa Falls schools where he started pursuing his broadcasting education.
Upon graduation, Keith’s first job in the industry was as a disc jockey in Tomahawk. After wearing many hats at a few radio stations in Neillsville, Keith returned to Chippewa Valley in 1981, joining WAXX-WAYY as a reporter and news anchor and soon after became the news director.
After 15 years there, he joined the news staff as reporter/anchor at B-95/Moose Country/Z-100/Rock 92.1. He became the news director, and worked at the stations for over a decade. During his career, Keith also worked as a part-time correspondent for the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel for about 18 years.
During his career, Keith and his staff won hundreds of awards for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.
Keith enjoys spending time with his kids. Kevin is currently working on his Masters Degree for Biology Education. Carrie is attending college to become a Veterinarian.
In his spare time, Keith enjoys the company of great friends, cooking and baking, the occasional thrift sale, fishing, hunting and relaxing at his cabin in northern Wisconsin.
Keith has held a myriad of part-time jobs since a child and believes those experiences have helped him become a better reporter. They include working for his parent’s burial vault business, stocking soda machines, flooding ice skating rinks, digging graves, cemetery maintenance, Sears order-taker, car wash attendant, postal employee, bartender, gas station attendant, flower delivery man, and Christmas tree trimmer.
