Altoona (WQOW) — The weather made for a beautiful Saturday morning and afternoon for the 2nd annual River Prairie Festival.

The family-friendly festival took place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at River Prairie Park in Altoona.

Local shops, food vendors, games, a bike race and other activities were spread across the plaza for people to enjoy. Event organizers said the goal is to show Chippewa Valley locals that the park is a great spot to spend time with family.

“We want them to come here because we have everything, we’ve got restaurants, we’ve got awesome businesses and we have a great park that people can come and enjoy themselves at,” said Roy Atkinson, Altoona management analyst.

Atkinson said it was a great turnout and seeing the kids and parents having fun made the months of preparation worth it.
