08/08: Interview – Tandem Mentorship

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Tandem is a mentorship program that strives to empower youth in the Chippewa Valley to pursue their potential by receiving Christ’s love through mentorship and guidance.

They say that hopelessness and suicide are on the rise in the community. So there is a huge need for youth to simply know and believe that they are loved, capable, and worthwhile.

They mentor in the community, in schools, and hold events called Tandem Tuesdays where they teach life skills, eat a meal together, and share an encouraging message. There is also a guitar program where youth can earn a free guitar just by meeting a few requirements.

If you would like to get involved, there are a number of ways. The best way is to volunteer at one of their Tandem Tuesday events as a meal provider or life skill instructor. You can also simply be there to build relationships with the youth that join.

You can also mentor a youth one on one in school or in the community. It takes just one hour out of your week to make a huge impact in a child’s life.

If you are unable to volunteer, they are also looking for people to join the family of supporters to help reach their goal of $25,000. This will enable them to create 15 more mentoring matches this year.

For more information, or to donate, you can visit their website. And be sure to watch the full interview above for more details.
