05/14: Interview – Let’s Go Fishing

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Let’s Go Fishing is an organization that provides free fishing and boating trips to senior citizens, veterans, youth and the disabled.

They help people get out on the water and enjoy the beneficial effects that nature has on our mental and physical health. The specially designed pontoon boat is wheelchair accessible and can be configured for up to 8 guests per trip.

Let’s Go Fishing is staffed by volunteers that have years of experience with boating and fishing. There are 8 trips available, every week, throughout the summer. Last year there were 27 trips and 167 guests in just Menomonie alone.

Between all 19 chapters they have had over 16,000 guests on their boats in 2018. Everything is provided for their guests including life jackets, fishing gear and water.

They operate our pontoon boat on Lake Menomin, boarding out of Butch’s Bay or Point Comfort Park. You can sign up for a trip or to volunteer on their website menomonie.lgfws.com. They can also be found on Facebook as Let’s Go Fishing – Menomonie.

For more information about their organization, watch the full interview above.
