Eau Claire (Mayo Clinic Health System) – The 5th annual Half Moon Dragon Boat Festival is happening this summer and now is the time to start thinking about getting your team ready for it!

Thousands of people come to participate or watch this family-friendly competition to support local cancer programs and services, celebrate cancer survivors, honor memories of those lost and raise awareness about cancer prevention and education.

The event is unique to the area.  Dragon Boating is quite the sport! Each team has a crew of 20 paddlers and 1 drummer, Steersperson is provided by the boat company. Intense fun – compete over a 250-meter course. Each race takes less than 2 minutes! Lots of fun costumes, camaraderie – overall stellar community event! There are also various ceremonies and activities throughout the day to celebrate and honor loved ones who are battling, or have beaten, cancer. There will also be remembrance activities to honor those we’ve lost to this disease.

Register online at halfmoondragon.org. $1000 Dragon Boat/(approx. $50 per person). Gather 20+ people for team.
