Eau Claire (EECEC)- The Eau Claire County Energy Cooperative will be holding their 82nd Annual Meeting where they will show a new safety video that was produced locally.
Offering safe and reliable energy is a mainstay for Eau Claire Energy Cooperative. At the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting on March 19, members will view a newly developed safety video especially designed for local schools, emergency response groups and the public. Including safety tips demonstrated by local experienced c0-op line workers, the recently completed video features portions of the actual live demonstration which is shown to local schools, emergency response groups and other community organizations throughout the year. It’s a way for the Cooperative to share the safety tips with even more people since the video will be available through its website, with the goal of keeping everyone safe around electricity.
Last year the Co-op featured a speaker at the annual meeting regarding a variety of electric vehicle topics and the future of the technology. That topic is continued at this year’s annual meeting when Eau Claire Energy Cooperative will present information about a special electric vehicle event coming later in April. It’s called “Experience EVs” and is a partnership between ECEC, the Chippewa Valley Technical College Energy Education Center, Dunn Energy Cooperative and Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative. These four sponsors will present a drive and learn event regarding electric vehicles at CVTC’s west campus on Saturday April 27.
With co-op members and the public invited, people will be able to get to know more about electric vehicles and ask some local owners about their experiences with EVs. People will learn about maintenance of this newer technology, learn the basics about EVs, where people can charge them, utility programs to charge them in the convenience of your home, and even drive one. Watch local media for more details.
