Eau Claire (THE TELEMARKETER)- A locally made movie is premiering tonight in Eau Claire and it’s actually part of the World Film Festival. The movie is called The Telemarketer.
The Telemarketer is a romantic comedy about overcoming the challenge of keeping up the mundane routine of a day-job, while moonlighting in a metal band. The movie is shot exclusively in the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area. Music from local musician Brian Bethke is featured prominently in the film. Also music from the bands Stare Across, The Gossips and Poor Mans Ridge.
They shot part of the movie in a restaurant called “Playmakers” which is now called the “District” on 101 Graham Avenue. Another location in the movie is Everybuddy’s Bar in Chippewa Falls. There was one scene where they were driving through the streets of Eau Claire for a scene that took place in a car. They shot many scenes at a local office and there are some outdoor talking scenes where Hastings Way is visible in the background.
This is the fourth feature length film for Eight Foot Studios. It is great to do something creative. There is a lot of excitement with producing a movie in the mid-west and making something big out of seemingly nothing.
The movie premieres Friday, October 19, at 9:00 pm at Micon Cinemas in downtown Eau Claire as part of the World Film Festival.
