9/20: Hike for the Homeless

Eau Claire (FAMILY PROMISE OF THE CHIPPEWA VALLEY) – The 15th annual Hike for the Homeless is September 29 at Phoenix Park.

Hike for the Homeless benefits Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley, an organization that helps shelter homeless children and their families. The funds raised will be used to support the activities of the organization related to the Beacon House including shelter operations, case management and rental assistance.

Family homelessness appears to be on the rise in the Eau Claire area. More families are seeking services and the needs of the families are becoming greater. With new development, rising rents, a lack of affordable housing, it is becoming harder for families with limited income to find housing.

More information about Hike for the Homeless can be found at https://www.beacon-house.org/. New this year is the ability to do peer to peer fundraising. Ask your friends to support your hiking efforts!! T-shirts, prizes, beverages and snacks will be available.

Hike for the Homeless is September 29, at Phoenix Park. Registration is at 8 a.m. with the Hike starting at 9 a.m. The Hike is about 2.5 miles and goes over the High Bridge. Snacks will be provided. It’s $20 for individuals and $40 for Families. It’s $15 for students and $5 for children.
