8/31: Sharing Hope Walk to Prevent Suicide

Eau Claire (SHARING HOPE)– Suicide is a hard topic to discuss but Vickie Zwiefelhofer and Deb Lorasch-Gunderson want to spread a message of Hope to everyone and tell you about the Sharing Hope Walk to Prevent Suicide.

Sharing hope walk is September 15, 2018, registration starts at 8:30am in Carson
Park. You can register prior to the walk by going to our website
www.sharinghopechippewavalley.org.

Some activities that will be at the walk include:

An envelopes raffle- purchase a $15 envelope and are guaranteed a prize of equal value
up to a 60 inch flat screen television.
Kid’s activities- such as coloring, hula hoops, face painting.
Shoe exhibit- walk through 174 shoes, representing individuals that completed
suicide from 2013-2017 from Chippewa, Eau Claire, and Dunn counties.)
Music provide by Kaleidoscope Entertainment
Hope wall- memorial dedications.

The walk begins at 10 a.m. after ceremonial speakers discuss prevention and a local individual will talk about his journey through loss. After the walk you can join them at the District Pub and Grill, 101 Graham Ave, downtown Eau Claire for lunch. From 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. $1 from every item purchased will be donated to the walk.

All the money raised will go toward the National Alliance on Mental Illness-Chippewa Valley.  They will use funds to create a physical space to further their work on educating and supporting loved ones of
those with mental illness. Funds will be used by Prevent Suicide Chippewa Valley to support activities,
education and raise awareness; provided coasters in local establishments and donated mirrors to Chippewa Falls high school students, both displaying the hope text line number for support. Distributed tear off flyers to area businesses that provide crisis information
