Bloomer Police Chief charged with 3 hunting violations

Burnett County (WQOW) – A local police chief faces citations for violating hunting laws.

Bloomer Police Chief Jared Zwiefelhofer was charged November 27 with three hunting violations in Burnett County.

Those charges include placing, using, hunting wild animals with bait, possession of a deer killed without a bow on an archer tag and operating an ATV or UTV with a loaded gun.

Zwiefelhofer is also chair of the Chippewa County Board

He has been Bloomer Police Chief since 2011.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for St. Croix and Pierce counties for the first half of the night, where gusts over 45 mph are possible.
