Barron County (WQOW) – As tips continue to roll in about the disappearance of Barron County teen Jayme Closs, a man is behind bars for stealing from the Closs’ home.
Kyle Jaenke-Annis, 32, is charged with burglary and felony bail jumping.
According to the criminal complaint, Jaenke-Annis was arrested on October 27 at the Closs’ home for stealing clothing items belonging to Jayme Closs.
Police say they saw Jaenke-Annis enter the Closs’ home on a motion-activated camera on the property around 2:22 a.m. October 27. The sheriff’s department and DCI agents immediately responded to the house where Jaenke-Annis admitted to stealing.
Authorities found tank tops, girl’s underwear and a dress in his possession.
Jaenke-Annis said he left work at Jennie-O Turkey Store that night and went to the Closs home. He said he walked in the home and immediately saw a room he thought was Jayme’s.
He said he took her clothing because they were items people wouldn’t miss. He also said he was curious about what size Jayme is. He said he did not know the Closs family.
Jaenke-Annis is not a suspect in Closs’ disappearance, according to Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald.
Jaenke-Annis was released from jail in August after another burglary case. He was also charged with theft in 2011.
Bond is set at $5,000. He will be in court on November 7.
