St. Paul man arrested for OWI drugged driving with child in vehicle

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A 28-year-old, Michael Darrel Adams-Virnig from St. Paul, was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for driving under the influence.

According to a release from the department, Adams-Virnig was stopped at 12:49 in the morning on Sunday for speeding.

The release states that he state trooper smelled marijuana, which Adams-Virnig admitted to smoking before he was pulled over. There was an eight-year-old child in the car.

He’s being charged with OWI drugged driving with a minor in the vehicle. This was Adams-Virnig’s first offense.

A daily precipitation record was set in Eau Claire as more than an inch and a half of rain fell at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport. The low pressure system that caused this is only halfway through the Chippewa Valley, and tomorrow it will bring strong wind and lighter rain.
