Eau Claire (WQOW)- A lot of people still have to work on Labor Day, including emergency first responders.

On Monday, Olive Garden showed its gratitude by delivering lunch to emergency dispatchers in Eau Claire County.

Every year, the restaurant chooses different first responders to receive free meals, and this year they chose dispatchers.

Olive Garden general manager, Nick Hewitt, said it’s nice to be able to provide the dispatchers with lunch and thank them for all that they do.

“I think they’re first responders that often get overlooked,” Hewitt said. “We don’t think about them very often and to think about the kinds of things that they have to hear constantly…they’re the people behind the scenes working to make sure that first responders get to the places they need to get to.”

Hewitt said the restaurant provided a pasta bar lunch for about 10 employees working at the dispatch center.
