Upgrades coming to Memorial High School after athletic facilities get $250,000 donation

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Some improvements will be coming to the athletic facilities at Memorial High School.

As we’ve reported, a $1.2 million donation to upgrade the entire athletic facility was withdrawn by the donor earlier this year after the district voted to match the money using private funding instead of public funding.

Now the Pat and Connie Ulrich Trust is donating $250,000 to upgrade the complex with an all-weather track surface, multiple electrical outlets, chain link fencing and new gates around the track.

“We have more funds available and we’re continuing to look for projects that we think really emphasize the quality of these two women and the lives they spent as educators and their belief that kids can use all the help they can get,” said Web Hart, one of the foundation’s trustees.

Pat’s and Connie’s pictures and plaques will be on display and the track will be named in their honor.
