Eau Claire man sentenced for stealing $38,000 from employer

Eau Claire (WQOW) – An Eau Claire man convicted of stealing more than $38,000 from his employer was sentenced Thursday.

Martin Munson was a salesman at Ronco Engineering Sales in Eau Claire.

Investigators say he deposited credits from the company into his personal account. They found nearly 40 such transactions taking place between 2012 and 2013 – totaling $38,000.

In April, a jury found him guilty of two felony counts of theft in a business setting.

Thursday, Judge Jon Theisen sentenced Munson to five years of probation. He might also have to serve a year in jail with work release if he’s unable to repay all the money he took within 90 days.
