Eau Claire (WQOW) — A questionnaire will help whittle down the potential jury pool in a high profile case in Eau Claire County.

Michelle Mayer is accused of allowing people to sexually assault two young children in exchange for money and drugs. According to the criminal complaint, the assaults took place over nine years. An informant told police Mayer also allegedly injected the kids with methamphetamine to keep them awake, so they could be assaulted more.

Mayer has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against her.

Monday, the state and Mayer’s attorney submitted the questions they would like to appear on the questionnaire. It will be sent to 200 potential jurors. Some of the questions include: if they, or someone they now, has ever been sexually assaulted, where they get their news from and if they have ever commented on a social media post about the Mayer case.

The questionnaire will be sent out in late October or early November.

Mayer will next appear in court December 27. Her five day jury trial is scheduled to begin in late January.

Weather Outlook: Finally! More sunshine this weekend

The fog and clouds lifted late Friday morning, and that meant the sun finally shined brightly for much of the day. While it doesn’t have a lot of power this time of year given we’re only a week away from the winter solstice, it still helped warm us into the mid 30s.
