Silver Alert Cancelled for Eau Claire woman

Update (WQOW)- The Silver Alert has been cancelled. A press release was sent at 12:07 a.m. Friday morning stating Ms. Halvorsen has been found safe.

Eau Claire (WQOW) — A Silver Alert has been issued statewide for a missing Eau Claire woman.

Arlene Halvorsen, 81, was last seen around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Law enforcement officials said she stopped at a business to ask for directions but never returned home.

Halvorsen is described as 5’1″ and 125 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink fleece jacket and blue jeans.

Halvorsen was driving a 2003 green Pontiac Grand Am with the Wisconsin license plate 337-KSZ.

Clouds have moved in with rain this evening, which will become more widespread with time tonight. Showers could contain a few rumbles of thunder, too, but the main concern is actually the wind. A Wind Advisory is in effect for St. Croix and Pierce counties for the first half of the night, where gusts over 45 mph are possible.
