New wedding trends have brides on a budget

Eau Claire (WQOW) – On Sunday, soon-to-be brides walked down the aisles of the 13th annual Impressions Bridal Fair and Women’s Expo.

This year, organizers said they had noticed new wedding trends like bridal cakes, instead of traditional cakes. Some brides chose donuts instead. And rather than a full course meal, brides are piling up on finger foods like tacos and hamburgers.

The expo also held a bridal fashion show, showing off some new wedding dresses.

“Favorite part about my job is meeting the people. They have been wonderful, whether they are vendors, the brides, the guests, the people that I work with, they have been terrific, and I get excited about this every year,” said Julie Lee-Gorton, director of marketing for the Impressions Bridal Fair and Women’s Expo.

Organizers estimated 1,000 guests in attendance, and out of them, 200 were brides. 80 vendors offered wedding services in food, floral decorations, limo services and more.
