(WQOW) — Thursday night’s strong storm caused damage across the Chippewa Valley. After the storm moved through, it left many in our area in the dark. Xcel Energy reports more than 2,500 customers lost their power following the storm.

The storm also caused widespread damage. In Spring Valley, the high school had parts of the roof ripped right off by 60-70 mile per hour winds. There was a volleyball game going on at the school when the storm moved through. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Another Spring Valley sport had less luck. Multiple viewers told News 18 that the recently installed baseball dugouts were destroyed by the storm.
