Two in serious condition after early morning crash in Barron Co.

Barron County (WQOW) — Two people are in serious condition after a crash near Almena Thursday morning.

The Barron County Sheriff said a car driven by Mary Ann Desilvio, 77, was waiting to turn into her driveway on Highway 8 when she was rear-ended by a truck driven by Travis Peterson, 30, of Turtle Lake.

Both Desilvio and her passenger, Donald Desilvio, 53, were transported to the hospital. The sheriff said Donald was in critical condition, and Mary Ann was in serious condition. Peterson was driven to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.

Highway 8 was closed for about three hours. The crash remains under investigation.
