Eastern Wisconsin boy dies after being hit by a baseball

MANITOWOC COUNTY (WBAY) – A child has died after being hit by a baseball in the Manitowoc County town of Mishicot.

On Aug. 29, emergency crews were called to a home in the town for a report of a child who had collapsed while playing baseball.

An eight-year old boy was taken to a Two Rivers hospital. He later died.

The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says a preliminary investigation shows the boy was unintentionally hit in the head with a baseball.

No foul play is suspected.

The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the victim at this time.

EMS crews were called to the scene at 1:45 p.m.
