Scorch from 92.9 locks himself in a crate for a cause

Eau Claire (WQOW)
– One Eau Claire radio personality became man’s best friend Thursday by locking himself in a crate like a dog.

Scorch from Eau Claire’s 92.9 is hosting Paws for a Cause, a week-long fundraiser for local animal shelters and K9 programs. In the past, Scorch has spent only a few days behind bars. But this time, he is staying put for six days.

“This is the best way to bring the plight of shelter animals to the forefront,” said Scorch. “Have a human being living in a dog crate and not just for a couple hours. I am living in a crate so people can see how bad some of these animals have it.”

Scorch has locked himself in a dog crate seven times, and he said so far, he’s raised more than half a million dollars doing it. He will be in the crate until noon Wednesday.

If you’re interested in throwing a bone to Scorch’s Paws for a Cause, you can stop by his crate at Milwaukee Burger Company, or donate online.
