Bloomer man sentenced in major deer shining, poaching case

Chippewa County (WQOW) – One of the men accused of wounding and killing of dozens of deer in Chippewa County won’t be able to hunt or fish for almost a decade.

Judge James Isaacson revoked Austin Glaser’s DNR privileges for nine years Wednesday.

Glaser, of Bloomer, also had to forfeit two rifles, and will have to spend one day in jail and pay more than $1300 in court costs.

Glaser, and nine juveniles, were accused of illegally shining and shooting more than 60 deer and running some of them down with their cars. Investigators say at least 15 of the deer were killed.
