Gov. Scott Walker declares state of emergency in Dane County

Dane County (WKOW) — Governor Scott Walker has declared a state of emergency in Dane County following historic flooding.

The Governor will be in Madison Wednesday afternoon to tour the damage at the State Emergency Operations Center on Wright Street.

In a statement, the Governor said, " “I have no doubt the resiliency of Wisconsin communities will be on display during this response. I will be touring the damages from the extensive rainfall and flooding tomorrow.”

U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin and U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan sent a letter Tuesday to President Donald Trump, asking him to provide federal assistance for flood recovery efforts if Walker seeks a federal disaster declaration.
