BREAKING: Sears in Eau Claire closing

Eau Claire (WQOW) – Sears is closing in Eau Claire.

According to Sears Holdings, as part of ongoing efforts to streamline Sears Holdings’ operations, the company informed associates at 46 "unprofitable stores" that they will be closing.

According to Sears Holdings, the store in the Oakwood Mall will close in October 2018.

The Eau Claire store joins more than 100 other locations that have closed or are scheduled to close in 2018.

Liquidation sales will begin as early as August 30.
