Second former Walker official comes out against him

Madison (AP) – A second former official in Gov. Scott Walker’s administration has come out against him and is supporting Democrat Tony Evers.

Former Financial Institutions Secretary Peter Bildsten appears in a new digital ad for Evers released Monday. In it, Bildsten says Walker’s team discouraged him from creating documents that would have to be released under the state’s public records law.

Bildsten also says he was required to meet with special interests who had donated to Walker’s campaigns.

Walker’s campaign did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Former Corrections Secretary Ed Wall has also endorsed Evers and cut a digital ad to support him. Wall has also written a tell-all book blasting Walker’s administration on a number of fronts, including how it approached open records.

Bildsten led Walker’s Department of Financial Institutions from 2011 to early 2015.

Thankfully, we’ve been able to catch up on clearing the snow, and are close to getting back in the swing of things. Just as we settle down, however, we return back to an active weather pattern that will bring several chances for more accumulating snow over the next couple of weeks.
