Gov. Walker wins Republican nomination for governor

(WQOW) – Governor Scott Walker has won the Republican nomination for governor in Wisconsin.

According to the Associated Press, Walker defeated his challenger Robert Meyer, who was not actively campaigning.

Walker spoke to supporters in Waukesha Tuesday night before the votes were even counted, thanking them for their vote and asking for it again in November.

"Starting tomorrow, Rebecca Kleefisch, and I, and our team will be traveling the state. We’re going to travel the state of Wisconsin laying out very specifically our plan of action for the next 4 years. It’s simple, we call it, Keep Wisconsin Working for Generations to Come. Are you ready to help us implement that plan?"
