$10,000 cash bond set for man shot by EC Co. deputies

Dunn County (WQOW) – On Friday, the man who was shot after allegedly confronting Eau Claire County deputies with a gun earlier this week, appeared in court.

Reese Diesterhaft, 23, appeared on the monitor during his hearing in Dunn County, with his hand on his abdomen. The court date was for charges of theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor from 2012. He is also being held on charges from South Dakota and in Eau Claire County.

His attorney requested a signature bond, because he was on hold for his parole in South Dakota, but, the request was denied.

"I am going to order a $10,000 cash bail," said Judge James Peterson of Dunn County. "He is a serious flight risk."

Diesterhaft will face charges from Tuesday’s incident, but they haven’t been filed yet. An initial appearance on the previous charges is set for Tuesday, August 14.
