1 killed, 4 injured in Barron County Crash

Barron County (WQOW) – One person is dead, and four others, including two children, were injured in a Barron County crash on Thursday.

According to the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 7:21 p.m. Thursday when a car driven by Cheryl Stone, 75, of Iowa failed to stop at a stop sign at the corner of 26th Avenue and Highway 53 in Barron County, north of Rice Lake. 

Stone hit a vehicle driven by Phillip Block, 36, of Illinois. Block had another adult and two kids in the car with him, a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old.

Everyone was taken to Lakeview Medical Center and Stone was later flown to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire where she died several hours later.
Everyone else is expected to be OK.
