Roommate fight leads to man being charged with animal abuse in EC

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A report of a fight between two roommates ended with one of the men being charged with animal abuse too.

Police were dispatched Tuesday to a home on Hoover Avenue. They ended up arresting Branden Hadt for beating his roommate during an argument over late rent.

The victim said they had all been drinking.

While police were there, they noticed a Doberman-mix dog that appeared extremely underweight and covered in feces. A vet found the dog had sores, significant malnutrition and muscle wasting.

Hadt is charged with battery, and mistreating an animal.
