Police arrest man believed to be behind 20 burglaries in Randall Park Neighborhood

Eau Claire (WQOW) – A man is behind bars after 20 burglaries throughout the summer in the Randall Park Neighborhood.

According to Eau Claire police, in the early morning hours of August 3, there were numerous officers in the Randall Park Neighborhood trying to ID the suspect. At about 4:15 a.m., a suspicious person was seen walking in a home in the 400 block of Chippewa Street. 

The person, now identified as Joshua Watson, 21, walked around inside the house using light from his cellphone for about 10 minutes. When he left the house, he ran from police. He was arrested a short time later. 

Police said Watson did not live at that house and was going through purses in the dining room, but did not steal anything. 

Police believe Watson is associate with the other burglaries in the neighborhood.
