Auto theft suspect arrested after high speed chase in Eau Claire County

Eau Claire County (WQOW) — Police tell News 18 that a suspect is in custody after a high speed chase through the Town of Union.

Police said they initially responded to a stolen vehicle call on Thursday afternoon. The truck was located and a chase ensued. That chase eventually went through at least one cornfield before the suspect ditched the stolen truck and ran away.

The Eau Claire Police Department, Eau Claire Sheriff’s Office and Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and were able to take the suspect into custody.

Officials said their investigation is ongoing. The name of the suspect was not released.
